nostalgia
Nostalgia is my first attempt at writing a full movie script. It brings with it many other challenges, but it seems to work for me because you need to write the story with a good visual concept in mind. It is one of the stories I thought of some years ago, started it and then it just sat there while other projects took over. And although far from completion, I’m happy to say that the plot moves on rather quickly since I picked it up again. Nostalgia is the story about a man in his mid forties that never got married, never had a serious relationship and now, after the death of his mother, decides to finally look for a wife. He turns back to his high school days and decides to contact the 7 girls that were in his class at the time. Convinced that one of them would be the right woman for him, he starts looking them up ready to propose. Along the way he gets confronted with reality and needless to say things do not go exactly the way he intended. For this story I’m trying to blend humour with sadness and, of course, the ever unexpected twist in the plot.
